James Watson and Francis Crick

Who Dat?: In 1953 they discovered the structure (double helix) of DNA. This discovery revealed how DNA might be copied, and how it might incode instructions for making proteins.

Fred Griffith

who dat?: Griffith was experementing on mice with the bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae that was lethal to mice. He heat killed some of the bactirium and mixed it with a harmless and non lethal veriaty of the same stuff, and the mice died. The dead bacterium converted the nonlethal bactirium to be lethal. This discovery was made in the late 1920's and set the base for the idea that genes are made of DNA.

Alfred Hereshy and Martha Chase

the affirmed that genes are made of DNA
