Loss of Me

Inspired by Squaresoft's "Final Fantasy IX", particularly the piano-piece of Nobuo Uematsu's under the same name. Only by hearing his masterpiece was I inspired to write this searching-love poem. Here's to you, Beatrix!

Loss of Me
By IMSans

I don’t know who you are
and I wish I really knew
because I’ve turned this world upside-down
to try to be with you…
It’s difficult at times,
this unwavering resolve.
Some days I wish it would all just end,
so you’ll meet someone new.

I’m not a work of art,
I’ve got no credit to my name.
I’m not your shining knight in armor,
though I’ve probably played the game.
You’re a deity of shining alabaster
to my simple granite stone
What could I possibly have that makes me the one?
What makes me not the same?

I don’t know who you are
but I already know I love you,
because I’ve turned this world upside-down
to forever be with you.
I don’t have much to offer,
just stories and my heart
of warm and gentle happiness:
It’s the least that I could do.
