Intelligence And Sexual Selection

Return to Neeeeeeerrrrrrddddd
(by Ali)

This is a work in progress but something I have been thinking about doing for some time.

Now this is unconventional because this is going to be written as a paper but the research is going to be done post or during the writing. Granted, this is only a first draft and really meant to just get some theories and ideas out before doing further research and majorly editing. So…enjoy.

Post Introduction (AKA the "real" introduction)

As many of you may know, I am a huge fan of Star Trek. Mostly because I love Mr. Spock. And my love for such a fascinating character led me to thinking about the sexual attractiveness of an intelligent individual. This feeling was fueled more since Jen has decided to get me addicted to The Big Bang Theory, seeing as how Jim Parsons' character is a direct representation of Mr. Spock in sitcom form.

In summation, I just thought it would be interesting to explore more about sexual selection, evolutionary psychology and exploring what makes an attractive mate.

As far as things go right now, I will warn that I am going to be really biased right now. Like I said, this is going to just be a rudimentary approach until I figure out exactly what I want to do with this (a free write, as you will).

My only hope is that this isn't just going to be a fan paper about how much I love Leonard Nimoy, Zachary Quinto and (now) Jim Parsons. This is more about intelligence and how it effects choices of potential mates.
